感谢右手，向往自由！ 

三年前的Personal Statement，感叹自己英语水平一泻千里的同时也感觉到了学生时代的厚颜，感谢University of Dundee、University of  Essex、University of Glasgow,还有那个让我做出某些决定的某人！

 

Three years ago, I chose to study Management and Information Systems at Zhejiang Gongshang University, an institution well-renowned for being the best to offer this discipline. I opted for this major because I wanted to study a challenging subject which would enable me to use my skills in logic capacity, to enhance my intellectualism and offer me excellent prospects in the futures.

 

On Sep. 12th, 2001, an 18-year-old boy arrived at university, carrying only his belief, his ambition and memories of his colourful childhood dreams. He knew that he was about to embark on a new journey of information technology, one that would be totally different from the original approaches to information systems. He was born in the 1980s, a period when his homeland had begun to experience big changes: from over 20% inflation rate per year to a 7% increase in GDP; from the appearance of the IT industry to the gradual allowance and acceptance of foreign IT companies entering the Chinese market; from a simple production style to a technological one. All this compelled the boy to do something great for his country. I am that boy, and my primary consideration for choosing Management and Information Systems is so that I could, in the future, play a significant role in my country's nascent technological progress.

 

There is no doubt that my talent for logic served me well during my first semester at university. Teachers are strict, courses are tough, but industry and interest together can conquer everything. I won a high ranking within the department, and could still, meanwhile, have time to enrich my campus life. That year, I took part in the university English speech competition in which I obtained a high score. I also frequented several public lectures, realizing that the course of information systems based on program designing is another way to analyse the world.

 

Hence, I began to pay much attention to this real world around myself, taking every effort to think like a system manager, and studying information technology through other ways, excluding hardware learning. But at first the so-called computing sense seemed very unfriendly. Not until did I get a score of 84 in the advanced language programming did the toil seem worthwhile. During that semester, less than ten students in eighty in the department got scores higher than 60. I am proud to be one of them. It was then that I decided what my dream was: to further my education and understanding in the area, to do research and to spread knowledge to others.

 

During the subsequent semesters, I did everything I can to facilitate the fulfilment of my decision.

 

In order to further my education in management and information system, language barriers should be removed. Since my mother tongue is Mandarin Chinese, I decided to take a minor in English, thereby enabling me to comprehend the latest academic papers relating to management and information systems. Through learning a new foreign language, I also discovered a new way of thinking, one which alters my previous, natural preconceptions and allows me to use a market eye to see technology. Additionally, a more humanistic side entered my understanding of information systems. I became multi-disciplined, unlike, for example, some of those students studying econometrics who only know mathematics or program designing.

 

As for my pursuing a career in computer research, I try my best to get the highest rank among my classmates. I have a straight goal and I persevere in all the lessons on the principles of database and management information systems. Meanwhile, my university's reputation on management offers me enough opportunities to study many kinds of branches on economics and accounting, as well as marketing. This is beneficial because it allows me to employ my knowledge on computing and analysis to the real world. These are also methods in IT research.

 

Furthermore, growing up in a traditional Chinese family, I attach great importance to responsibility, due to my parents' values and hopes. We believe if you have learned something , you should in turn use your knowledge to serve others. This is also my belief and my dream. Few people in China have heard of information technology, and fewer work in this area. Between the ivory towers and the public, a bridge is needed.  Being a professor in this field to teach more fresh persons in the universities, a writer to enlighten more ordinary people, or just to uncover the veil of information technology, I want to be this bridge.

 

As I mentioned above, the University of Dundee is undoubtedly the best institution at which to realize my dream. The MSc program offered by the Faculty of Engineering & Physical Science can meet the needs for me to continue the study in information technology; faculty research fields involves in not only theoretical computer science but applied one, which both are my interest. More importantly, the University of Dundee is famous for its innovation. I, the young computer science learner, and my old country all eagerly need it. Besides, the university has a high reputation for computing science and mathematics, two of which are essential to computer science research nowadays. This is also why I wish to become a member of the University of Dundee.

 

You just need several seconds to possess a dream, but I am one of those people who is willing to spend their whole life striving for that dreams.

      你好，我很忌讳用“偷”这个字，毕竟，也是因为我的不小心才给你留下了机会，所以，我错在先，不怪你。

      首先祝贺你，三喜临门。香港回归十周年纪念，中国共产党创建86周年，举国欢腾之日，身为一名老党员的我，放松了对人民内部矛盾的警惕，给了你喜上加喜再加喜的机会（听起来有点像加息，加息，再加息。。。）。

      跟你介绍一下你的这位新朋友，我的故友。MOTO E770V，购于一年前的这个时候，欧版水货，沃达丰的定制机，当时售价970元，买后即停产。没啥特别的功能，跟欧洲人的消费习惯有关系，混充是欧洲市场司空见惯的3G手机。正如你看到的那样，因长期与钥匙放在一起，表面划伤严重，补漆是不可能了，液晶屏也必须在光线极暗的情况下才能发挥效应。说实话，你不拿，我都不想用它了。

      当然，也并不是每件事都如你所愿，充电器还在我手里哪，哈哈，心里总算平衡一点。还有耳机，配一副原装的，估计跟这只手机现在的价值不相上下，但是，凭你的魄力，我绝对相信你会去配一副。

      本来还挺担心的，怕有些私人的信息会被你明目张胆地偷窥，后来想想，算了，这个偷窥的年代，都是些工作的事。你也有点不尽人情，短信跟你说了，手机拿去，卡还给我，里面400多个电话号码，现在要我一个一个的去回忆，也就是仰仗万科强大的邮件和内网系统，省了很多的时间，在以前，我非跟你拼命不可！当然，还有件事挺抱歉的，就是电话接听时的嚣叫，那声音，那家伙，那是相当不靠谱。要是哪天你听力下降了，可别怪我，这个属于不可抗拒因素。

      好了，不跟你瞎扯了，没有你，我也不会这么快就跟新朋友会面，重回NOKIA时代。还有，天太热了，多在家呆着吧，为了点外快，再中个暑什么的我就更过意不去。
